These excellent evocative pictures were
kindly offered to the site for display by Graham White and capture the
excitement and thrill of early days of car usage in the town.
The site is very grateful to Graham who would like to dedicate the pages
to his father,
Mr
Ivor Lionel Graham White, who is seen in some of the pictures.

This is a picture of one of the
earliest cars in the Abertillery. The identity of the car or the
driver is not clear but it is thought that the person behind the
wheel may be Mr. Barrell who set up the fruit and vegetable business
in Six Bells.

The remains of
the old bandstand are visible in the background where later Henley's
buses would turn around after travelling down Carlyle and Glandwr
Streets. The river's course has now also been altered.
